As of January 2020 we are now awarding a medal for the Winners of SOTM. These are for the Winners to keep as a prize for their achievements. How to get the SOTM award? Well you have to train and be noticed in class for the right reasons, for example do you train hard? Are you courteous and always give your best?
You do not have to be the best practitioner or best fighter; just a student who consistently trains and is noticed by the Black Belts who assist you in class. ALL the Black Belts who assist in class should vote every Month for who they perceive to be the SOTM of that particular Month.
There are 4 medals to be awarded every month; the sections are:
Child 17 Years and below at Junior Belt level. 10th Kup White Belt to 5th Kup Green Belt Blue Stripe
Child 17 years and below at Senior Belt Level 4th Kup Blue Belt to any Degree of Black Belt
Adult 18 Years and over at Junior Belt level. 10th Kup White Belt to 5th Kup Green Belt Blue Stripe
Adult 18 years and below at Senior Belt Level 4th Kup Blue Belt to any Degree of Black Belt
Previously we have given out a belt within class to be worn by the SOTM but felt time it evolved into something more substantial as lots of you really do deserve recognition for your commitments to your Tae Kwon Do. These awards are open to visiting students that attend SL TKD classes. If you train hard enough and are regular attendees you will be noticed and hopefully voted for at the end of the Month. So please give it your maximum and you will not only be rewarded by massively improving at Tae Kwon Do but may achieve a little something for doing so. Impress who teaches you as they all vote in the Monthly awards.
