STEPHEN LAMBERTH'S TAE KWON DO SCHOOLS SET TO TAKE WORLD STAGE

BIRMINGHAM HOSTS INTERNATIONAL TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIPS

Over 2000 hopefuls, from every continent of the world will vie for titles in the largest Taekwondo Championship the UK has ever seen!

Birmingham Arena— Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd July 2018 - 9am start

Hosted by the Taekwondo Association of Great Britain (TAGB), 22 countries will be sending their competitors forward to compete in an exciting selection of events in the Taekwondo World Championship.  The two-day tournament will see some of the world’s best fighters, patterns technicians and destruction champions come together to battle it out for the title of World Champion.  There are also the amateur coloured belt divisions where people of all ages and abilities can also try their skill alongside the great champions!

From your local TAGB Schools in Ringwood, Verwood, Fordingbridge and Ferndown people will be competing in this exciting event.

William McGregor and Benjamin Coe are local young men who will be participating in this prestigious event. William and Benjamin both train at Stephen Lamberth's Tae Kwon Do School's in Ringwood, Ferndown, Verwood and Fordingbridge. They both have won trophies at English; British and Welsh Championships for their patterns and sparring abilities.

They both have good chances of winning trophies this time around as these gentlemen are talented martial artists.

Both competing in the artistic side of Tae Kwon Do which is patterns. Set movements done against an imaginary opponent; the idea of these sets are that they look strong, powerful, precise and artistic. The moves should be delivered with the utmost precision and accuracy. It is open to a panel of judges to mark the pattterns and the highest scores win.

Both are also entering the continuous sparring section which is where they face off against another fighter and fight continuously for a 2 minute round.

The winner is indicated at the end of the bout and goes forwward to the next round.

These gentlemen could face any fighter in their division from any country in the world. Best of luck guys, we are proud of what you do win or lose. The fighting is spectacular to watch at any level as it is proper Tae Kwon-Do being shown.

Instructor Stephen Lamberth said “All our members have really raised their game this year. I’m excited to see what they can achieve!  We wish the best to all competitors and hope that the public will join us at the Arena Birmingham to support us on the day.”

The event will take place at Birmingham Arena over the weekend of 21-22nd July.  Tickets can be purchased on the door on either day or in advance through the Arena Birmingham Ticket Booking Office.
