SL TKD 2018 – A Year In Review

SL TKD in 2018

What a phenomenal year 2018 was. 2019, will be better than this?

Within SL TKD had a total of 320 individual students bow upon entering the Dojang and train during 2018. Combining in a total of 15,533.5 hours trained.

We had 4 Pre-Gradings with a total number of 263 participants.

We had 228 students stand up in front of Grand Master Dew and do their coloured belt gradings.

We have a new 3rd Degree Black Belt Clifton Beard along with a new 2nd Degree Black Belt Charles Woolward.

5 new First Degree Black Belts Ethan Corrigan and Emilie Kinnear in April 2018. In October 2018 Benjamin Coe, Luke Mardell & Matthew Stevens achieved theirs. Blake Newman and Benjamin Scott achieved First Star Black Belt Awards.

Let's hope we can go on from strength to strength in 2019; success and friendships made are the backbone of this Family. We are not just an exercise or fitness self-defence Tae Kwon-Do School.

Genuinely we have such a great group of people who train; help and support the group. These range from students who help with assisting so much in classes to parents who take it upon themselves to support the club in so many ways.

There are lot's of people who support the club in so many ways that you don't see. All the Hours trained Sheets and question sheets, leaflets and information handouts are done in her own personal time by Kira Chapman's Mum. Kay Baxter; she does a superb job in keeping on top of the hours and other administration matters. Helped me in completing SL TKd Ltd and Trademark the name.

Clifton Beard who takes photographs and painstakingly edits them for the group. Kev Moore and Rob Penn who maintain the quiz page and edit videos. Charles Woolward one of the 2nd Dans helps video editing too.

One of our second Dan black belts Richard Blandford maintains the website for us along with training, working and keeping the local cider manufacturers gainfully employed.

Mark Harvey and Richard Sanger from Spire Printing in Salisbury help me out when I turn up and they help the club by producing the literature you all read. Derek and Naomi from Monkeez Ink who produce T shirts and clothing items for us and other quality garments.

Roger Stewart Illustrations who not only is the longest serving student in the club but he does fantastic illustrations; funny pictures you all see from time to timeon the website and on Facebook. He also keeps Guinness ticking over significantly with it's annual turnover.

Laura Trapnell helps and gives guidance and advice on legal matters and GDPR.

All the Black Belts who give up their own time to help in junior classes and indeed in senior sessions too. In fact coloured belts who help. Mum's and dad's who get them to classes on the dark cold rainy nights and days. ALL You guys are one amazing Tae Kwon Do Family.... Thank you for your support and help in 2018 and hope it continues in 2019.

I am truly a lucky man to have such a wonderful job. I know apart from the jokes!
